Debris removed from collapsed German bridge

The A9 bridge is sagging dangerously in the middle as a result of heavy flooding in the region, which caused one of the bridge columns to collapse into the Ahr river pulling part of the road with it.

According to local media the bridge was only recently renovated and is a main part of the traffic junction between the Ahr and Rhine rivers which links the western German cities of Cologne, Bonn and Koblenz.
