'Debt collector' protesters demonstrate outside IMF

The activists said they were protesting over the fact that wealthy nations had committed in the Paris Climate Agreement to setting aside $100 billion a year for climate change needs but had failed to actually deliver the money.

G20 finance leaders have been meeting in Washington on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank annual meetings.

The activists came dressed in tuxedos and mustaches and held life-sized cardboard cutouts of key world leaders including U.S. President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

They were calling on rich nations including Australia, Italy and the United Kingdom to fulfill their climate commitments, and for economic reforms that work for the people and the planet.
