Decatur looking for artists to apply for Arts in Central Park

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Area Arts Council has announced they are accepting applications from artists to participate in the 61st annual Arts in Central Park (AICP) 2024.

The festival takes place every third weekend in September at Decatur’s Central Park, with a variety of artists in different mediums, including ceramics, glass, jewelry, photography, and wood creations.

“This show is open to all artists/craftspersons who exhibit and sell work of their own concept, design, and execution,” part of the application reads.

All artists must apply with the online application, which should include at least 5 art images and 1 booth image. The application closes on June 1. The fee for the application is $25.

Artists who were accepted by the jury in the AICP for 2020-2023 can bypass the jury process and will be invited to purchase a booth in June and July.

More than 40 artists were featured at last year’s event.

The Decatur Area Arts Council is also still looking for art vendors to contribute to the Decatur Craft Beer Festival in May and Race for the Lake in June.
