It's about to be doors closed for this longtime NuLu restaurant.

After more than 10 years of operation, Decca will close at 812 E. Market St. next month. Its last day of operation will be Sept. 23.

The restaurant's management announced the closure on social media on Friday, saying they will be "packing up and moving on" from the space.

"Thank you for your support," the post read. "You will never know what it has meant to us and how you have impacted our lives."

Louisville dining:Why this restaurant is worth a visit

The Mediterranean-inspired fine-dining restaurant closed in December 2020 during a spike in coronavirus cases. In March 2021, Decca's original lead chef Annie Pettry left the business after leading the restaurant for nine years.

Two husband-and-wife pairs run Decca now: Reynolds, his wife Amy Reynolds, Chad Sheffield and his wife Kelsey Norris. They helped found the restaurant 10 years ago, though Pettry had taken over most of the ownership in recent years. Since she left the restaurant, the ownership team has stepped more to the forefront.

After sitting closed for 10 months, the restaurant reopened last September with a new menu, a brand-new patio set up and a more accessible atmosphere. It even had a burger on the menu. The reopening included major updates to the restaurant, including new flooring, paint, a new mural, updating kitchen equipment and an entirely redone patio space. Decca also received $617,183 in a grant from the federal Restaurant Revitalization Fund in June 2021.
