Decomposed human remains found in debris of demolished Akron home

Police and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office are investigating human remains discovered that had come from a vacant home demolished on Thursday.

Police said they were notified about 9 a.m. Friday that decomposed human remains were found among debris taken to a landfill in New Franklin. The debris had come from a home that had been on the 700 block of Dayton Street in North Hill. The home had been vacant for about two years, police said.

The identity of the dead person has not been determined.
