Dee Snider ‘hates everything’ about MAGA fans playing Twisted Sister music

If you’re gonna’ take it, know the guy who wrote it just may hate you.

Twisted Sister singer Dee Snider said that politicians using his music in their campaigns, like Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, might want to know his contempt for them inspired songs like “We’re Not Gonna Take It.”

The 67-year-old Astoria, Queens, native, who was raised on Long Island, stated his position on Twitter Friday.

“ATTENTION QANON, MAGAT FASCISTS: Every time you sing ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ remember it was written by a cross-dressing, libtard, tree hugging half-Jew who HATES everything you stand for,” he tweeted. “It was you and people like you that inspired every angry word of that song! SO F—k OFF!”

The 1984 anthem remains in play nearly 40 years later. Snider expressed outrage at the start of the month when the “idiot” campaign staff for Lake, a far-right wing 2020 election denier, played “We’re Not Gonna Take It” during her campaign rallies en route to the GOP nomination in Arizona’s governor’s race.

“Write your own damn song!” he tweeted.

With primaries wrapping-up nationwide and midterms elections a couple months away, it’s unclear if or where Snider heard his music being used once more. But his declaration got Twitter rocking.

“Now tell them about the Village People,” joked one Twitter user.

That 1970s pop-band’s hits like “Macho Man” and “YMCA” are regularly in rotation at Donald Trump rallies. The Village People has had gay musicians in their lineup and attract a wide range of fans, too.

Another Twitter user identifying as a MAGA supporter told Snider he’s got it twisted.

“If you think the MAGA movement is racist like that, you’ve completely duped by leftist propoganda (sp.),” wrote Old School Saul.

He identifies as “Anti Islam” in his Twitter bio.

A social-media user who tweets under the handle New England Firearm Enthusiasts unearthed a 2015 interview with Snider where the rocker told TMZ Trump was “a good friend” who he hoped would turn “the political system on its head.”

Snider didn’t deny making that statement, but said he changed his mind when “Trump opened his big fat mouth and started spewing poison all over this great country.”

According to Snider, he asked Trump to stop playing his music at rallies and the former president, also born in Queens, acquiesced.

Trump hosted Snider on “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2012, but “fired” him when a team led by the outspoken frontman came up short.

“To keep it in perspective, this is not a real job,” Snider said after being canned. “I actually was fired from a fake job and then went back to what I really do.”

Snider has given politicians his blessing to play “We’re Not Gonna Take It.” In 2015, he said Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, a two-time presidential contender, had his support. Earlier this month, he told Arizona gubernatorial candidate Marco Lopez “We’re Not Gonna Take It” was his to use and added “Go get ‘em Marco!!”

Lopez lost his Democratic primary race.
