A winter storm warning was in effect for eastern and central Illinois on February 15-16, as snow continued to accumulate.

The National Weather Service (NWS) said that over 14 inches of snow could fall in parts of Chicago, with at least six inches accumulating elsewhere in the state.

The snow’s intensity was set to peak through about midnight until 2 am and would continue until the late morning or early afternoon on Tuesday, February 16, the NWS said.
