Deer Valley unveils East Village as the base for resort expansion

PARK CITY, Utah (ABC4) — Deer Valley Resort provided details for its new village which will serve as the base for its new 3,700-acre expansion.

Dubbed the Deer Valley East Village, the new base will be located along U.S. Route 40 and will provide a new entry point into the resort for guests to the mountain. The East Village will be a state-of-the-art skier service facility complete with retail, dining options, children’s programs, and a ski school.

In addition, the East Village base will be home to over 800 hotel rooms, nearly 1,700 residential units and 1,200 new parking spaces dedicated for day-skier use. Park City officials said they hope the new base village will improve accessibility to the resort and help reduce traffic in Park City.

“Deer Valley East Village is a long-anticipated project that will serve as the heart of the expanded terrain at Deer Valley Resort,” said Extell Development Company – who is overseeing the development of the village – Chairman Gary Barnett. “With careful planning, we’ve curated a village that will redefine luxury and offer unparalleled amenities for our guests.

The new East Village is part of a major terrain expansion the resort announced in August 2023. The expansion will add 3,700 acres of skiable terrain and 16 new chairlifts – including a 10-passenger gondola. Four new peaks will be available thanks to the expansion, which resort officials say will seamlessly connect the new terrain to the existing terrain.

Once completed, the Park City resort will offer over 5,700 acres of skiable terrain with 37 chairlifts and over 230 ski runs.
