Quote: "On the fifth month of a large-scale war, few people know about the fierce and deadly battles for representatives of fascist Russia in the Kherson region in the first days of the invasion.

We have several Heroes of Ukraine who have received the highest award for the battles near Kherson in the first days of the Russian invasion.

Dmytro Dozirchyi is one of them, the commander of the tank company of the 59th separate motorised infantry brigade named after Yakiv Handziuk.

On 24 February, Dmytro, together with 33 tankers of his company, met with an enemy landing force. The Russians landed on the bridge across the Dnipro [river]. As a result, the entire 59th brigade was surrounded. And Dmytro led his company to the breakthrough.

In the battles near Kherson, Dozirchyi's company defeated the Russians. It made it possible to withdraw the entire brigade from the encirclement. Dmytro Dozirchyi has received the "Golden Star" [award] for this."

Details: The Ministry emphasises that the Kremlin's misinformation that "Kherson was surrendered without a fight" is false, as well as the words that "the occupiers marched to the regional centre almost like a parade."
