Ukraine’s Defense Ministry has for the first time approved the procurement of several new models of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) under a simplified procedure that allows drones to be deployed to the frontlines within just a few days, the ministry said in a Telegram post on Oct. 25.

Previously, the approval process for new UAV models took months — the designs were tested, trials conducted, and revisions made. With the alterations to the government regulations, the process has been shortened to a few days, Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Minister, added in another post.
