Three-star defensive lineman Tyree Weathersby committed to Tennessee football, he announced on Twitter Friday.
Weathersby, a 6-foot-4, 251-pounder, chose the Vols over Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi State. He is UT's 13th commitment in the 2023 class, which is led by five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava and four four-star prospects.
“It was really a spur-of-the-moment decision,” Weathersby told GoVols247. “I really didn’t want to make a decision until, like, I would say, August. But there’s no point in waiting.
“I mean, it feels like home to me.”
At New Manchester High in Douglasville, Georgia, Weathersby was the 2021 region defensive player of the year and all-state honorable mention as a junior after posting 67 tackles and six sacks.
He is ranked No. 530 overall and the No. 64 defensive lineman in the 2023 class by 247Sports Composite.
