Defiance woman killed Monday in Putnam County crash

May 18—MONROE TOWNSHIP — A Defiance woman died Monday afternoon as a result of injuries suffered in a one-vehicle traffic accident in Putnam County.

According to the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Cindel Fenter, 31, was southbound on Putnam County Road 22 at approximately 4 p.m. Monday when her 1999 GMC Suburban went off the right side of the roadway, came back onto the roadway and drove off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a ditch and overturned.

Fenter, who was not wearing her safety belt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Two children, ages 3 and 1, were passengers in the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries. The children were transported by Continental EMS to Mercy Health Putnam County Medical Center in Glandorf.

The patrol was assisted on the scene by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, the Continental Police Department, Continental Fire and EMS, the Putnam County Coroner's Office and 419 Towing and Recovery.

The crash remains under investigation.
