Deion Sanders adding former Minnesota Gophers coach Tim Brewster to Jackson State football staff | Report
Deion Sanders is adding a former Big Ten football coach to his staff at Jackson State, according to a report from On3 Sports.
Tim Brewster, who was coach at Minnesota from 2007 until midway through the 2010 season, will join JSU per the report. Brewster went 15-30 at Minnesota, with two bowl appearances.
Brewster, 61, most recently coached tight ends at Florida in 2021. He was not retained by new Gators coach Billy Napier.
Past assistant coaching stops for Brewster include North Carolina, Florida State and Mississippi State.

Brewster has coached tight ends and receivers at nearly every coaching stop. According to JSU's spring football roster, T.C. Taylor is the wide receivers coach and Michael Pollock is the tight ends coach.
Jackson State hired a new offensive coordinator, Brett Bartolone, in the offseason.
Led by quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and receiver Keith Corbin, who signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent, JSU had one of the top passing attacks in the SWAC last year.
The Tigers have since added No. 1 overall recruit Travis Hunter and four-star receiver Kevin Coleman, the two-highest recruits in JSU history, to the receiving corps.
Jackson State won its first SWAC championship since 2007 and made its first Celebration Bowl appearance last year. The Tigers have put an emphasis on improving the offense, adding several FBS transfers on the line, signing multiple receivers and now adding another veteran offensive mind to the coaching staff.
