Del-Com, Cowan schools announce kindergarten roundup details
MUNCIE, Ind. — Greg Kile, superintendent of Delaware Community Schools, has announced dates for kindergarten roundup for the 2023-2024 school year.
Parents need to pre-register children. Pre-registration forms are available at Albany, Eaton and Royerton elementary schools, or parents can call these schools.
Appointments will be made for kindergarten assessment.
Each roundup session will last about 20 minutes. Incoming kindergarten students will participate in a standardized school readiness screening, while parents will receive necessary information about the start of their child’s school career and will be asked to complete paperwork and online registration.
These sessions are scheduled for April 25 at Eaton Elementary School, April 25 and 26 at Royerton Elementary School and April 27 at Albany Elementary School.
A child must be five years of age on or before Aug. 1 in order to enroll in kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year.
Parents and guardians should bring a birth certificate, shot record, proof of residency and their child’s Social Security card. Evidence of a physical examination and immunization for childhood diseases will be necessary prior to entry of each child in August.

Cowan kindergarten enrollment planned
MUNCIE, Ind. — Cowan Elementary School kindergarten enrollment is set for Wednesday, April 12.
Parents will be notified by mail as to what they should report to the school.
They are asked to bring their child and a birth certificate, and two pieces of verification — such as a driver's license, voter's registration, or utility bill — showing proof of residence in the Cowan school district.
Families from outside the Cowan district are required to complete a transfer application.
Children must be five years old by Aug. 1.
