Del Monte Foods closing facility in Green Lake County, laying off 90 employees

MARKESAN, Wis. (WFRV) – A food processing company with a facility in the Fox Valley has submitted a WARN letter to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development announcing its intentions to close permanently and lay off 90 workers.

Del Monte Foods, Inc. is permanently closing its facility at 680 East John Street in Markesan, Green Lake County.

Corporate officials with Del Monte Foods say with the plans in motion on or about April 26, around 90 employees will be laid off. None of the affected employees are represented by a labor organization.

Additionally, none of the affected employees have bumping rights.

There was no reason cited in the letter on why Del Monte Foods is closing its facility in Green Lake County.
