Del Norte Credit Union opens second branch in Española

Jun. 20—Del Norte Credit Union opened its second Española branch May 9 at 1720 Riverside Drive in the northeast section of town.

The other, much smaller Del Norte branch on Paseo de Oñate will remain in operation.

"We want to keep serving people on the other side of town," said Kim Currie, Del Norte's chief marketing officer. "This [new] location is the hub and that would be the spoke."

Del Norte now has eight branches in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, White Rock, Española and Rio Rancho. A ninth Del Norte branch is under consideration, potentially in Sandoval County, Currie said.

"We just had a milestone at the end of May," she said. "We reached $1 billion in assets and 60,000 members."

The new, 5,100-square-foot Española branch is situated to better serve communities in Rio Arriba County and along the Taos corridor. Del Norte has 12,000 members in Rio Arriba County and 5,000 to 10,000 in the Taos region, Currie said.

The new Riverside Drive branch provides personal and small-business banking services, home loans, auto loans, credit cards and retirement planning.

"We are really geared to assist local small businesses with business lending and deposit services," Currie said.
