Be a rainbow at Delaware Pride Fest

The 25th anniversary of the Delaware Pride Festival will take over the Capital City this weekend, featuring handfuls of live entertainment and special guests.

This includes appearances from Ashley Lynn (2012 Delaware Pride Queen) and Tatiyanna Voche (2021 Miss Western States America) on the Drag Stage, along with entertainment from the Manhattan Prairie Dogs and Pepper MaShay on the main stage.

Pride Festival is the single largest LGBTQ gathering in the state.

Pride Festival will be held near Legislative Hall (411 Legislative Ave., Dover) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free. For more info, visit Delaware Pride on Facebook, delawarepride.org or (302) 265-3020.

Savor a symphony by the sea

What better way to kick off the summer season than enjoying some live music not far from the beach?

The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra will deliver that experience Friday at 7 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach.

Award-winning conductor, composer and pianist Adam Glaser will join an ensemble of Mid-Atlantic musicians in what promises to be “an eclectic evening of jazz, crossover and contemporary music,’’ according to promotions for the event.

The orchestra will also perform Saturday at 7 p.m. at Freeman Arts Pavilion in Selbyville, under the direction of Maestro Julien Benchiou.

Tickets are $35 for the Rehoboth show. For the Selbyville event, tickets are $17; children under age 12 are admitted for free. Tickets are available at midatlanticsymphony.org/tickets.

Brew up some fun at the Brandywine Zoo

Who doesn't dream of hoisting a pint and toasting their favorite marsupial?

“Brew at the Zoo’’ offers a chance to revel a bit at the Brandywine Zoo after hours, while sampling drinks and light fare from vendors (included in ticket price).

You can also enjoy music by Spokey Speaky and ice cream from Hy-Point Farms, all while supporting the Delaware Zoological Society.

This all-ages fundraiser will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. The event also will include a 50/50 raffle and online auction.

Tickets are $45 members, $50 non-members, $25 for alcohol-free members, $30 alcohol-free non-members, $15 member youth, $20 non-member youth and free for kids younger than 5.

See Gregg Allman's son in Wilmington

The Devon Allman Project will team up with perennial favorite The Dirty Dozen Brass Band on Sunday at 8 p.m. at The Queen. Doors are at 7.

Son of the legendary, late rocker Gregg Allman, Devon Allman is a singer-songwriter and producer from Corpus Christi, Texas, who plays both guitar and keyboards.

He’s toured with the Allman Brothers, as well as touring and recording with Devon Allman’s Honeytribe, the supergroup Royal Southern Brotherhood (with Cyril Neville), and the Allman Betts Band.

The rocker also has shared stages with the likes of Les Paul, Gov’t Mule, Lukas Nelson and many other musical greats.

He formed the Devon Allman Project in 2017 and also founded the Allman Family Revival Tour brand in tribute to his late father.

Tickets are $35-$60.95. Masks are recommended for attending indoor events at the venue.
