Delaware ranks as No. 1 state for car enthusiasts, according to new study

Rev up your engines! Delaware car lovers have lucked out by choosing to live in a car fanatic’s paradise.

Delaware is the best state for car enthusiasts, according to a new study from Chrysler Capital.

Delaware scored 99.2 out of 100 based on a cumulative score ranking the state’s registered vehicles and the number of car clubs, racetracks and experience days.

The rest of the Top 10 includes Connecticut with a score of 96.0, New Jersey at 93.6, Ohio at 88.8, North Carolina at 88.4, Illinois at 86.8, Indiana at 86.4, Maryland at 86.4, Florida at 84.0 and Massachusetts at 82.8.

Despite ranking No. 1 in the country for car enthusiasts, Delaware does not make a top 10 appearance for states with the most racetracks and car clubs.

Florida is the top state for most racetracks, touting 24, and Texas is the state with the most car clubs, featuring 149 clubs devoted to cars.
