DO Delaware: 'Swan Lake,' Led Zeppelin 2, Grateful Dead tribute on tap this weekend, plus more

Zeppelin tribute for The Queen

Whether you were too young to see the real deal in action, or you’re just feeling nostalgic – there’s an acclaimed Chicago band that makes a living recreating Led Zeppelin’s swag in concert.

Led Zeppelin 2: The Live Experience brings back the sights and sounds folks would encounter at a Zeppelin show in the band’s prime. Guests will hear classics like “Kashmir” and of course “Stairway to Heaven,” along with bootleg tunes.

Zeppelin 2 is aiming to pour of a “Whole Lotta Love” onto the audience this weekend when their tour hits The Queen (500 N. Market St., Wilmington) at 8 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $13. Visit thequeenwilmington.com or (302) 400-7020.

Calling all Deadheads to Milton

People can’t resist a free oil change or a good Grateful Dead cover band. But only one of them will be on tap for you this weekend.

Rainbow Full of Sound: The Music of the Grateful Dead features keyboardist Waynard Scheller re-creating the Grateful Dead Europe 1972 tour. The tribute group is all about performing the legendary band’s colorful tunes, sharing them with Deadheads and Deadheads in training.

Rainbow Full of Sound will shine over the Milton Theatre (110 Union St., Milton) at 8 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25. Visit miltontheatre.com or (302) 684-3038.

Take a dip into ‘Swan Lake’

First State Ballet Theatre, Delaware’s only professional ballet company, will keep its dancers on their toes with its next show: “Swan Lake.”

The world-renowned ballet, set to the music of composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, tells the romantic tale of the Swan Queen Odette and Prince Siegfried, who desire to break an evil curse with love.

Viewers will see a large cast make a splash in “Swan Lake” when the show hits the stage at The Grand (818 N. Market St., Wilmington) at 7 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $22.99 to $60. Visit thegrandwilmington.org or (302) 652-5577.

Murderous romp downstate

Sometimes power makes people do crazy things like … trying to kill their family members. That’s the situation Monty Navarro is in right now.

He’s eighth in line in his family to become the ninth earl of Highhurst, but he plans to take matters into his own hands so he can jump in the front of the line in the Tony Award-winning killer romp “A Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder.”

The shenanigans will unfold at Possum Hall Theatre (441 Old Laurel Road, Georgetown) at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 to $27. Visit possumpointplayers.org or (302) 856-4560.
