Channel 9 brought you the story on Saturday when there were more than 500 delays and at least 40 cancellations.

On Sunday afternoon, Charlotte-Douglas Airport had 325 delays and more than 60 cancellations.

According to the FAA, there are thunderstorms moving slowly across the country which could impact flights heading to Boston, New York, Philadelphia, D.C., Southern and Central Florida, Atlanta, and Charlotte.

At 8 p.m. on Sunday night, there were more than 400 delays and 78 cancellations. Channel 9′s Glenn Counts headed out to the scene to speak with travelers about how the delays have impacted their trips.

Barry Ross, a principal at Monroe’s Apprentice Academy, is trying to get to Baltimore with other staff members for training. He told Counts he doesn’t know what he’s going to do because the training begins tomorrow.

“It starts Monday morning, so if we miss it tomorrow, I’m not sure what I’m going to do,” Ross said.

Stephanie Herrera and her family are heading back to Phoenix after spending time in Charlotte with her. For the past few days, airlines have been giving her and her family the runaround.

“We were supposed to be on a plane yesterday, but it got delayed due to weather, so now we’re going to be flying in about midnight tonight,” Herrera said, “and I teach tomorrow morning; yeah, coffee will get me through.”

Raymond Gee, an attorney from Mississippi, is afraid his one-hour delay will soon become two forcing him to rearrange his work schedule.

“Yeah, and if that does happen, that will put me on a slippery slope. I’m not sure what I will have to do in terms of moving court dates and depositions,” Gee said.
