Delco Offering Grocery Shopping, Delivery For Seniors

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Seniors in Delaware County now have an option to get their groceries without venturing out into the public amid the new coronavirus pandemic.

According to Delaware County officials, the County of Delaware Services for the Aging (COSA) and Community Transit are partnering to offer seniors an alternative to in-person grocery shopping.

Community Transit drivers are available to get grocery lists and payment from seniors.

Drivers will then shop and then deliver grocery items to the seniors using the service.

Seniors who take advantage of this grocery service will be able to stay in their homes, avoiding potential infection of the COVID-19 virus.

Shopping and delivery costs are being subsidized by COSA.

Contact the Community Transit at 215-900-2519 or GroceryDropOff@CTDelco.org to use the service.
