Delivery changes coming to Gannett Michigan publications in Adrian, Monroe

Starting Monday, Oct. 16, The Daily Telegram will kind of be an afternoon paper again.

Instead of being delivered early in the morning by our hard-working crew of carriers, our print edition will be delivered during the day by the U.S. Postal Service's hard-working crew of carriers. This change also is happening at some other Gannett papers throughout the country, including The Monroe News. The Hillsdale Daily News is already delivered by the USPS.

This change also means that for the vast majority of our readers, the Sunday paper will be delivered on Saturday. It will include the Sunday comics and the usual advertising inserts.

A small percentage of subscribers may receive the Sunday edition with their Monday mail delivery, based on their location.

While the print edition will be delivered with subscribers' regular mail, our eNewspaper — a digital replica of the printed paper — will continue to be available first thing in the morning at lenconnect.com/enewspaper. It includes content that's not available in the print edition as well as access to every Gannett newspaper's electronic edition, including USA TODAY. Print and digital subscribers also have unlimited access to USA TODAY's Crossword digital app and site.

Our website, lenconnect.com, will continue to be updated with the latest news, including local sports highlights. Subscribers have full access to stories there and receive a daily email newsletter each morning with links to the latest headlines.

We'll continue to keep you informed about what's happening in local government and schools, and we'll keep you updated on local events so that you can make plans on how to spend your free time.

I also want to say thank you to our dedicated carriers, some of whom have been delivering the Telegram for years. My first job way back when was as a foot carrier delivering the Midland Daily News, so I know what it's like to have to wake up before dawn and sometimes endure bad weather to make sure the paper is delivered when customers expect it. Of course, motor route drivers also have to watch out for deer and bad drivers as well as deal with rising gas prices and wear and tear on their vehicles. Your efforts over the years have been very much appreciated by the staff here and by our readers.

We're looking forward to working with our local post offices. We've had post offices in this part of Michigan for about 200 years and have entrusted them with delivering everything from bill payments to birthday gifts to love letters. Now we entrust them to deliver the Telegram.

If you have any questions about this change or need assistance accessing the eNewspaper, please contact customer service at 888-775-2853.
