Delmarva snow: How many inches did you get in your town? Most got between 14 and 5 inches

This big question on nearly everyone's lips: How much snow did we get?

While Delmarva residents tend to look out and haphazard a guess based on how much is teetering on the railing to our steps or covered the patio furniture, others are trained observers who measure snow accumulation with authority.

There's no doubt: Snow overnight Friday and into early Saturday afternoon sure left its mark on Delmarva. A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday on the Eastern Shore.

The National Weather Service's Mount Holly office confirmed at least the coastal portions of the Delaware beaches experienced a blizzard Friday and Saturday, saying inland areas were still being evaluated. The Wakefield office had yet to weigh in on the Eastern Shore by mid-afternoon Saturday.

Here's what National Weather Service preliminary inch counts say about Maryland and Virginia. The state of Delaware reports its own totals:

Salisbury: 10 inches

Willards: 10 inches

Berlin: 9.5 inches
