A Delta spokeswoman said the addition of the new domestic routes to its winter schedule is part of its commitment to connect people to where they most want to fly. Delta will be the first carrier to offer a first-class cabin for customers connecting between these airports, she noted. Free Wi-Fi is available. Delta is expected to use Boeing 717 aircraft. The seasonal routes will run until May 6, 2024.

Delta will be in direct competition with JetBlue.

“We’re thrilled there will be another non-stop service option for passengers at PBI,” Director of Airports Laura Beebe said.  “PBI has robust demand for air service to the New York Tri-State Area and we know many will take advantage of this new Delta flight."

In June, Delta accounted for more than 31% of market share at PBI, making it the top carrier. Nearly 86,000 passengers flew on its planes. JetBlue, with 70,000 passengers, was a distant second. For the 12-month period ending in June, 922,916 passengers flew on Delta planes. Only JetBlue had more passengers for the 12-month period.
