Delta Animal Shelter becomes ambassador for Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program

ESCANABA, Mich. (WJMN) – Non-profits in the Upper Peninsula will now have access to donated items through the Greater Good Charities‘ GOODS Program.

Delta Animal Shelter in Escanaba has recently been chosen to be an ambassador for the program. The GOODS Program distributes food, essential supplies, clothing, house wares, toys and other items to pets and people in need across the world. Delta Animal Shelter will serve as the location hub for the U.P. and surrounding areas. This means the items will be sent to the shelter and from there, non-profits who sign up through the program can pick up the donated supplies.

“We were very fortunate to be accepted because there’s nothing local,” said Delta Animal Shelter’s Executive Assistant Tina Lindstrom. “You know, being in the U.P., we’re very isolated. So, a lot of things just don’t come easy to us. So, with this, we will be able to get products here, whether it’s for animals, humans, you know, it just varies. And that can then be shared with other nonprofit organizations in the U.P., lower Michigan, Wisconsin, so people just need to apply through our website for this.”

If you’re a recognized non-profit and interested in applying to receive items from the Greater Good Charities’ GOODS Program, you can visit deltaanimal.org.
