Delta Sigma Theta sorority of Oak Ridge to host scholarship gala

The Oak Ridge Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will celebrate its annual Affair of the Heart Scholarship Gala on Feb. 10 at the Airport Hilton Hotel, 2001 Alcoa Highway.

The gala provides financial support to young women of East Tennessee counties to attend college, a news release said.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner, dancing, and live music featuring the TSJ Soul Band from Chattanooga. After-5 or formal attire preferred, the release said.

The public is invited.

This event is held in collaboration with the Delta Research and Educational Foundation (DREF).

Tickets for “An Evening of Elegance” are $75 a person at www.oakridgedst.org or via Eventbrite (Affair of the Heart Gala Tickets).

For those unable to attend, tax-exempt donations may be written to DREF and mailed to P.O. Box 5387, Oak Ridge, Tennessee 37831-5387.
