Three other candidates, including Ryan Reckley, Deltona's former parks and recreation director, withdrew their applications.

Interviews begin at 2 p.m. at City Hall, and each candidate will get 20 minutes, according to the agenda. There will be a two-minute recess between each interview and a 30-minute break at 4:10 p.m.

All of the interviews will be conducted via Zoom, Rocco Anastasio, the city's spokesperson, said Monday afternoon.

Marsha Segal-George, of the city attorney's office, has been serving as the interim manager since her appointment during a lengthy commission meeting that began Sept. 19.

The City Commission during that meeting accepted a modified version of the resignation put forth by John Peters III, who is effectively on paid leave until Nov. 17, his official resignation date.

Peters, who received largely positive reviews from commissioners during his approximately two-year stint as acting manager, offered to stay on through the election to help get the new commission started on a city manager search.

Commissioners Loren King and Dana McCool questioned Mayor Heidi Herzberg's suggestion to appoint Segal-George when the city had Stacey Kifolo as deputy city manager.

Herzberg cited Segal-George's knowledge of Deltona, Florida law and experience managing municipalities.

Kifolo, who was hired in August 2021, was suspended with pay last week, but city officials have yet to provide the reasoning.
