Deltona motorcyclist loses his life in crash Friday afternoon

DAYTONA BEACH — A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 4 in Seminole County Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Deltona man and shut down the eastbound lanes of the highway.

The wreck occurred at approximately 2:52 p.m. on I-4 in the area of mile marker 102 in Sanford, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash involved a 2012 Honda Civic, a 2022 Toyota Tundra and a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

The 65-year-old Deltona man was driving the motorcycle, and he was pronounced deceased on-scene, according to an FHP report.

The Honda driver, a 23-year-old female from New Jersey, and the Toyota driver, a 31-year-old male from Windermere, were not transported for medical care and remained on-scene.

FHP traffic homicide investigators are on-scene, and more information will be released later.
