County Democratic Central Committee opens downtown headquarters

The Washington County Democratic Central Committee is expected to open its headquarters at 140 W. Washington St. in downtown Hagerstown.

An orientation was held Saturday by the county Democratic Central Committee, where volunteers received information on how to educate, support and encourage voters to vote for Democratic candidates during the general election on Nov. 8.

Political organization congratulates county elected official on nomination in Maryland's 6th District race

FreedomWorks for America, a political organization that primarily promotes Republican candidates, congratulated Del. Neil Parrott, R-Washington, for his successful bid for the Republican nomination in Maryland's 6th District race.

Parrott will face off against Democratic candidate and incumbent U.S. Rep. David Trone, D-6th, in the general election on Nov. 8.

"We are thrilled to hear the news that Neil Parrott has emerged as the winner in (Maryland's) primary," said Noah Wall, executive director for FreedomWorks for America. "When he wins in November, Parrott will join the ranks of liberty aligned-Republicans in the House, both new and incumbent, who will be the strongest allies for Americans who feel that their country is no longer recognizable under the Biden administration."

Maryland Democratic Party to host rally next month

The Maryland Democratic Party is expected to host the "All Blue in '22" rally on from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 1 at the Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring.

Those who attend will be able to see the statewide Democratic candidates that were nominated during the primary election.
