The runtime for the final episode of Demon Slayer has been confirmed, and fans will be in for a treat.

Ufotable, the animation studio that produces the beloved anime, took to Twitter to share the final episode of season 3 will be 70 minutes long.

"Next week, we will present the final episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Swordsmith Village Arc," the company announced yesterday (June 11).

"This special broadcast will be extended to a 70-minute finale," the message continues. "We hope you will enjoy it until the very end."

The final episode will have a similar runtime to the third season premiere, closing in at about the 70-minute mark. Both are significantly longer than normal episodes, which are typically around 20 minutes.

Demon Slayer follows protagonist Tanjiro in his journey to become a Demon Slayer after his family is killed by a demon. He and his younger sister Nezuko, who is transformed into a demon in the attack, are the sole survivors.

The third season of Demon Slayer will cover the Swordsmith Village arc from the manga written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge. The storyline takes place after the Mugen Train movie, released in October 2020, and the Entertainment District arc (aka season 2, aired from October 2021).

The synopsis for this third season reads: "Tanjiro's journey leads him to the Swordsmith Village, where he reunites with two Hashira, members of the Demon Slayer Corps' highest-ranking swordsmen – Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. With the shadows of demons lurking near, a new battle begins for Tanjiro and his comrades."

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc's English dub premiered on Crunchyroll on May 28. Demon Slayer is available to watch on Crunchyroll and Netflix.
