Demonstrators Gather in Elizabeth City for Andrew Brown Protest

Protesters gathered in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on Sunday, May 2, to call for criminal justice reform following the death of Andrew Brown Jr.

Brown, 42, was fatally shot by a deputy on April 21 while authorities were serving a search warrant, according to Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten.

Event organizers called on activists to “stand with the Brown family and other victims of police brutality” on Sunday.
