Denison University Vail Series welcomes world-class talent back to the stage

Denison University’s acclaimed Vail Series presents its 2022-23 season. The university is thrilled to welcome these world-renowned artists to Denison.

"After two seasons of limited audience events, we are so excited to share these wonderful world-renowned artists with the entire community," says Music Professor Ching-chu Hu, director of the Vail Series. "We invite everyone to enjoy our 44th season, which spans a range of musical and artistic genres. From classical to jazz, chamber music to symphonic orchestra, cartoons to multimedia — there is truly something here for everyone! Please join us and make these special Vail events the center of a memorable evening out with your friends and family."

  • Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. — World-class musicians The Queen’s Cartoonists play classical and jazz music in sync with classic cartoons and contemporary animations projected on the big screen.

  • Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. — One of the greatest artists of our generation, Turkish pianist and composer Fazıl Say performs with rising star, Turkish cellist Jamal Aliyev.

  • Feb. 2, at 7 p.m. — The Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine take their international tour to Denison.

  • March 2 & 3, at 7 p.m.- — Terence Blanchard, the E-Collective, fellow Grammy winners Turtle Island Quartet, and visual artist Andrew F. Scott celebrate the work of photojournalist and filmmaker Gordon Parks.

  • April 12, at 7 p.m. — The Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour with an all-star line-up featuring vocalists Dee Dee Bridgewater and Kurt Elling, saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, pianist Christian Sands, bassist Yasushi Nakamura, and drummer Clarence Penn.

Denison shares these experiences with the larger community by making a limited number of tickets available for public sale on a first come, first served basis for $15 each. A limited number of season tickets for all five Vail performances are available at a discounted rate of $60 available until Oct. 6. All events subject to change. Audience members will be subject to Denison COVID-19 guidelines in place at the time.
