Denmark to deliver $250 million military aid package to Ukraine

In particular, Denmark will transfer armored medevac and demining vehicles, equipment and ammunition for anti-aircraft defense system, which will reinforce Ukraine's ability to launch a counteroffensive in the coming months. A total of almost $250 million worth of equipment will be allocated.

“We know that the Russians have entrenched themselves in the occupied territories of Ukraine, dug trenches and planted mines in the fields,” the ministry quotes Troels Lund Poulsen, Denmark’s acting Defense Minister.

“The equipment in the aid package will help Ukrainian tanks and infantry on the frontline.” said Troels Lund Poulsen, the acting Danish Minister of Defense.

The message provides the following breakdown of the package:

·       Armored recovery and engineering vehicles;

·       Demining and landmine-resistant vehicles;

·       Specialized mine clearance equipment;

·       Mortar rounds;

·       Ammunition for Carl Gustav anti-tank grenade launcher;

·       Field bridging equipment;

·       Night visors;

·       Funding for additional anti-air missiles.

On April 15, Poulsen said Denmark expects to deliver Leopard-1 main battle tanks to Ukraine “in near future.”
