“Cathouse” revolved around the professional lives of the workers at Hof’s Moonlite BunnyRanch.

Hof also wrote a memoir, “The Art of the Pimp,” which was published in 2015.

That same year Hof gained further notoriety when former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom collapsed at Love Ranch after booking a five-day package at the establishment.

Most recently, Hof had been engaged in a run for the Nevada state Legislature, after beating James Oscarson in the GOP primary. He had previously lost to Oscarson in a 2016 bid for the state Legislature.

“No other pimp has ever done this before,” Hof told TheWrap after winning the primary in June. “I don’t let things happen, I make them happen. I take the bull by the horns.”

Hof also likened himself to President Donald Trump.

“What qualifies me is the same thing that qualified Trump,” said Hof, who dubbed himself “The Trump of Pahrump.”

“I’m a businessman,” Hof said. “We sign the front of the paycheck, not the back. We know what it takes to run a business and a state is just like a business but with a lot more zeros on it.”

According to an official statement from Hof’s political campaign, Hof was discovered by porn legend Ron Jeremy, who was going to rouse Hof for “a scheduled lunch at the Pahrump Senior Center.”

“It is with great sadness and tremendous shock to announce that Dennis Hof, 72, passed away sometime this morning in his sleep at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada,” the statement reads. “He was discovered by longtime friend Ron Jeremy – who went to his room to wake him for a scheduled lunch at the Pahrump Senior Center – around 11:00 a.m. No cause of death has been determined. The Clark County coroner will conduct an autopsy.”
