Denver Paramedics Wheel Away Passenger Who Allegedly Tried to Open Exit Door on Flight

A Los Angeles-bound plane from Cleveland was diverted to Denver on March 24 after a passenger allegedly attempted to open an exit door during the flight.

According to local news reports, a shirtless man left the lavatory and tried to open an exit door on Spirit Airlines flight 185.

Authorities removed the man after the plane landed at Denver International Airport.

The flight resumed and arrived at Los Angeles International Airport after midnight, local media reported.

Video shared by Michael Finley shows the man being wheeled away on a gurney attended by paramedics and a Transportation Security Administration officer.

Spirit Airlines had not responded to a request from Storyful for comment at the time of writing. But according to local media, the company said in a statement that “opening a door inflight is impossible due to air pressure inside the cabin pinning the door against its frame with force stronger than any person could ever overcome …. Law enforcement met the aircraft in Denver and took the passenger into custody.” Credit: Michael Finley via Storyful
