Denver Police Officer Tries to Stop Bowen Byram From Rejoining Stanley Cup Parade

A police officer in Denver, Colorado, tried to stop Colorado Avalanche defensemen Bowen Byram from rejoining teammates during the team’s Stanley Cup victory parade after he mistook him for a fan.

Byram, 21, was running up and down the parade, celebrating the Colorado Avalanche’s victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, when a police officer on a bicycle confused him with a fan.

This footage by Denver resident Genesis Stroud shows the crowd pleading with the police officer as Byram attempts to rejoin the truck float.

Byram explains to the officer that he was part of the team and is allowed back in the parade.
