Strong winds across Colorado: Pinpoint Weather Alert Day
DENVER (KDVR) — Skies will stay clear in Denver on Monday with some snow in the high country.
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued due to the high wind speeds across the state.
Weather today: Breezy winds, mountain snow
Winds will remain brisk and breezy on Monday at 20-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. Winds over the foothills can gust up to 80 mph and high wind warnings are in effect for the rest of the day.
A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued because of the wind speeds, which have already damaged tree branches and power lines while causing power outages, flight cancellations and barriers on the road.

High wind warnings, high fire danger and a winter weather advisory have been issued in certain parts of the state. An air quality alert has also been issued because the winds dragged down ozone through a stratospheric intrusion.
Skies over the Front Range will stay mostly clear with cooler highs around the 60-degree mark.
Mountains will get wet, heavy snow through the day and into Tuesday. Winter weather advisories are in effect through 6 p.m. Thursday with 3-10 inches of snow expected.
Weather tonight: Still breezy
Winds will slow a little on Monday night, but it’ll still be breezy at 10-20 mph out of the southwest. Skies are partly to mainly clear with lows around the 40-degree mark.
Looking ahead: Cooler week, spotty shower chances
Winds are still breezy on Tuesday with partly cloudy skies. Winds stay 20-30 mph with snow in the high country and a shower chance along the Front Range.
Winds will get slower on Wednesday afternoon with mainly sunny skies and below-average highs around 60 degrees.
Thursday adds clouds through the day with highs in the upper 50 degrees and chances for some evening showers.
Friday rounds out the workweek with partly cloudy skies and highs in the low 60s.
Temperatures warm through the weekend, hitting the upper 60s Saturday and low 70s by Sunday.
