Department of Agriculture announces grants for homes affected by 2022 fires, hurricanes
Relief is on the way for people whose homes were damaged by natural disasters.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Florida partnered with U.S. Virgin Islands State Director Lakeisha Hood to offer grants for those in need.
According to Thursday’s news release, people with homes affected by Tropical Storms Ian and Nicole and Hurricanes Ian and Nicole are eligible to apply.

Those affected by the Adkins Avenue and Chipola Complex fires are also eligible.
The USDA said residents from all 67 Florida counties could be eligible for the aid under the Rural Disaster Home Repair Grant Program.

Funds can be used to pay for home repair expenses, to prepare for a new house, or relocate.
The maximum amount for a grant is $40,675.

Must have incomes that are no more than the low limits. Click here for more information.
Homes must be in eligible rural areas; click here to see if this applies to you.
Homes must be in presidentially-declared disaster areas in 2022, which can be found here by searching your county.
