DePaul men’s basketball coach Tony Stubblefield has hired three members of his inaugural staff, the program announced Tuesday.

Paris Parham, a former Illinois assistant, and Steve Thomas, a former Richmond assistant, were hired as assistant coaches. Patrick Scully, who worked with Stubblefield at Oregon, will serve as director of basketball operations.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Paris, Steve and Patrick to Lincoln Park as the first staff additions to the men’s basketball program,” Stubblefield said in a statement. “I know they are eager to hit the ground running and meet our current team, our future recruits, our fans and our campus community. Paris and Steve both bring high-level recruiting and player development abilities to our program, while Patrick was an integral part of our operations behind the scenes at Oregon.”

Stubblefield was introduced as DePaul’s new coach on April 6 after 11 seasons as an Oregon assistant. He replaced Dave Leitao, who was fired in March after struggling in his second stint with the program.

Parham, a Chicago native, spent the last four seasons as an assistant to Patrick Baldwin at Milwaukee. He previously worked for five seasons at Illinois under John Groce and five at Illinois State. He also was a Chicago Public League head coach at Morgan Park and Phillips after an assistant coaching job at Maryland-Eastern Shore.

Thomas had been on Richmond’s staff since 2015 as director of basketball operations until he was promoted to an assistant coaching job in 2019. He was on Virginia Tech’s staff in 2014-15 as director of student-athlete development and was a graduate assistant at Oregon from 2012 to 2014.

Scully was video coordinator and director of creativity at Oregon since 2019.
