Deputies: 2 adults, child escaped vehicle overturned in river

LOCKPORT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two adults and a child were able to escape their vehicle when it ran off the road and flipped into a river Thursday, deputies said.

A vehicle was headed west on S. Fisher Lake Road near Haines Road when it ran off the roadway to the left, flipping upside down into a river. Two adults and a child were able to escape the vehicle and were taken to the hospital for cold exposure, deputies with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.

It’s not clear what caused the vehicle to leave the road. The people involved were not identified by deputies.

The Three Rivers Fire Department and Broker’s Towing helped the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office.
