Deputies searching for 2 missing Avery County residents

Deputies with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public to be on the lookout for two missing residents believed to be in the same car.

According to a silver alert, 83-year-old Allen Hayden Vance and 79-year-old Rosalie Febuary Vance were both last seen on Jay Vance Road in Crossnore, North Carolina, on Sunday evening.

The sheriff’s office says Allen Vance is a 5′11″ white man with short, straight hair and blue eyes. Rosalie Vance is a 5′5′′ White woman with white shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.

Deputies believe they are both traveling in a 2016 gray Nissan Rogue with North Carolina plates that read ZWF8248 and a bumper sticker that says ‘Mom’s Taxi’ in the lower left corner of the back windshield.

According to the sheriff’s office, both Allen and Rosalie Vance are believed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Law enforcement does not know what outfit either person was wearing before they went missing.

Anyone with information about the location of Allen and Rosalie Vance is asked to call the Avery County Sheriff’s Office.
