Deputies shoot, kill man who had hostage in Modesto

Stanislaus County deputies shot and killed a man during a hostage situation Wednesday night, the Modesto Police Department said. Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies were investigating a kidnapping and false imprisonment incident when they located the suspect, Stephen Murray, 52, near Vine and Madison streets at 10:05 p.m. When deputies tried to arrest him, Murray took the victim the hostage with a firearm, police said. Murray was shot by authorities and died at the scene. The victim was not injured. Get the full story in the video above.
