ALAN GIONET: A Jefferson County sheriff's deputy and another driver ended up in the hospital after a crash on Thursday morning. That's one of today's top stories on CBSN Denver. State patrol says the Jeffco deputy had their lights on and was going west on Coal Mine.

That's when a driver going south in the right lane of Kipling reportedly had her vision blocked by cars stopped in left lane. She blew past him and didn't see the patrol car until the last second. After that crash, she had a third car at the traffic light. The deputy was sent to the hospital as a precaution. The driver was hurt but should be OK.
