Unidentified persons fired at a car containing the Deputy Mayor of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing him, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported on Telegram on Feb. 8.

The investigation found that unidentified persons shot at the car with an unidentified firearm. The man died on the scene.

The Prosecutor General's Office noted that a pre-trial investigation has already been initiated in a criminal proceeding over premeditated murder under the jurisdiction of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office. The offenders face seven to 15 years in prison.
