Derek Hough Does His Own Stunts on 'DWTS' in Wild Behind-the-Scenes TikTok

For his grand entrance, he surprised fans and rappelled from the rafters.
Dancing With the Stars judge Derek Hough is a man of many talents.
Not only is he a professional dancer, actor, and former DWTS champion (and six-time winning record holder), but Hough is also capable of successfully performing his own stunts.
In a behind-the-scenes TikTok that teased Hough's incredible entrance to last night's Dancing With the Stars episode, the 37-year-old could be seen dangling mid-air in preparation for the opening number on "Bond Night."
"The Names Hough. Derek Hough ! @officialdwts #dancingwiththestars," the judge captioned the video.

As the video began, "The James Bond Theme" could be heard playing in the background as Hough slowly made his way into the air above the stage.
Text overlayed on the video described that this stunt has been a long-time in the making, "I've always wanted to repel [sic] from the rafters!" Hough later added, "On Dancing with the stars [sic]."
Once Hough reached the top, someone on set could be heard counting down the star's rappel. But before the beat of the famous theme song (or Hough) could drop, the screen went black–forcing curious fans to tune in to last night's performance to catch the entire clip.
The episode, which originally aired on Oct. 3, was specially curated in celebration of the 60th anniversary of James Bond on the silver screen. The 14 remaining couples were tasked with performing dances to iconic songs from the James Bond franchise and chose songs like “Live and Let Die” by Paul McCartney & Wings, “Writing’s On the Wall” by Sam Smith, “For Your Eyes Only” by Sheena Easton, “The Name’s Bond…James Bond” by David Arnold & Nicholas Dodd, and more.
Dancing With the Stars Season 31 is currently streaming exclusively on Disney+, with new episodes airing every Monday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT via the streaming service.
