Retired New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter listed his waterfront Tampa, Florida, home in 2020. The property, which the baseball icon nicknamed “St. Jetersburg,” was custom built for him and his family in 2012. As of recently, Realtor reports a new owner has the chance to put their own twist on the lavish place after purchasing it for $22.5 million.

The seven-bedroom mansion sits on 1.25 acres of land, spans 30,875 square feet, and is closed off with a six-foot-high gate that the baseball star’s neighbors refer to as “The Great Wall of Jeter.” Despite this barrier, taking in the scenery is a breeze as there are terraces all around the house complete with breathtaking views of Hillsborough Bay.

Jeter was in charge of the design, which includes a home gym, movie theater, outdoor kitchen, two three-car garages, and 80-foot saltwater pool. Additionally, there’s a clubroom by the main common area with a full bar and a pool table ideal for entertaining.

This home even got the attention of none other than Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, who previously rented it with his wife, Gisele Bündchen. Even though the amount the football star and the supermodel paid was never officially disclosed, the home was reportedly estimated to be worth around $75,000 a month. A listing agent confirmed that the two athletes, longtime friends, also had an agreement where Jeter could “list, market, show, and sell the property for sale” while Brady was there. Brady and Bündchen have reportedly moved on, purchasing a $17 million home they plan to demolish and rebuild.
