It will be the only time you can hear Governor Ron DeSantis and challenger Charlie Crist debate the issues that matter to Florida, on the same day early voting begins in Duval County and in several other parts of the state.

Hurricane Ian’s impact on Southwest Florida delayed this face-to-face. It will originate from West Palm Beach’s WPEC-Channel 12 at the Sunrise Theatre in Fort Pierce.

DeSantis has maintained a sizeable lead over Crist in many polls, most recently a survey by Florida Atlantic University, which showed DeSantis up 51 - 40%.

DeSantis could become the first Floridian to win a governor’s race by more than 1 point since 2006. He beat Democrat Andrew Gillum four years ago by 32,436 votes out of more than 8.2 million cast, a margin so narrow that it required a recount.
