Desert Hot Springs police investigate killing Wednesday night; roads closed

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department was investigating a homicide on Wednesday night and several roads were closed.

Ironwood Drive was closed from Ocotillo Road to Mark Drive and northbound and southbound Mesquite Avenue was closed at Ironwood Drive, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department said on Facebook around 9:30 p.m.

Police were expected to be on the scene for several hours, the department said.

The department did not immediately say how the victim was slain and whether any arrests had been made. The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
