Despite cooler temps, some rain, NorCal fire officials warn more fires likely

That fall feeling in Northern California is becoming noticeable as we enter the back half of September. Raindrops make a cameo in our forecast, offering what we might think is hope for a near-end to fire season. But fire officials will give a frank reminder that this is actually the time of year when fires can get worse, keeping in mind that the 2021 fire season has already been destructive, burning millions of acres before even reaching fall.
