Dessert shop and bar offering savory bites among new additions to Savannah food scene

Ask anyone why they love Savannah and one of the likely answers will be the food.

Every corner is bustling with dining and drinking spots that satisfy a variety of tastes. Lucky for locals and tourists alike, there's never a shortage of spots to visit, especially when new businesses are rolling in every month.

Here are three newly-opened restaurants to dine at in Savannah.

The Peach Cobbler Factory

51 Barnard St.; peachcobblerfactory.com

After a few COVID-19 setbacks, the Peach Cobbler Factory opened its first Georgia location on Jan. 14 to eager customers. The dessert restaurant is known for its variety of creative cobbler flavors.

"We do our best to make southern peach cobbler. We have 12 different flavors, and we've got five different flavors of banana pudding," said Bob Baker, co-owner of the restaurant with his wife Amy Baker.

Hours: Open daily from noon to 8 p.m.

The Garage at Victory North: Kitchen and Bar is now open for service. Customers can enjoy bite-sized menu items and specialty drinks in what was the former — but temporary — home of Venezuelan restaurant Troupial. If you need somewhere to eat before a show at the live music venue, look no further.

Hours: Monday 5 p.m.-1 a.m. Thursday-Sunday 5 p.m.- 10 p.m.

OD Crab House on Victory Drive

1915 E. Victory Dr. Unit K.; odcrabhouse.com

The casual seafood spot with its nautical-themed design recently opened a new location on Victory Drive, adding to their other Georgia locations in Hinesville and Waycross. Customers can expect the familiar flavors of seafood boils and fried fish baskets.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Sunday noon to 10 p.m.
